Recover SCOM Management Server after removed or damaged

Problem

On my environment, i have SQL Cluster as backend and 2 SCOM 2012 R2 management server. one of Management server VM is damaged. I want to recover it and get it monitor its’ servers.

Solution

For Recover SCOM Management Server, you need to follow below steps

  1. Build new VM with Operation System 2012R2.
  2. Install SCOM Prerequisites using PowerShell with this script.
  3. Mount SCOM Iso image then Open PowerShell and run following cmdlet

'/silent /AcceptEndUserLicenseAgreement /recover 
/SqlServerInstance:OM\MSSQLSERVER /DatabaseName:OperationsManager 
/DWSqlServerInstance:OM\MSSQLSERVER /DWDatabaseName:OperationsManagerDW 
/UseLocalSystemDASAccount 
/DatareaderUser:lab\OMRDW /DatareaderPassword:P@ssw0rd 
/DataWriterUser:lab\OMRDW /DataWriterPassword:P@ssw0rd 
/ActionAccountUser:Lab\OMAdmin /ActionAccountPassword:P@ssw0rd 
/EnableErrorReporting:Never /SendCEIPReports:0 /UseMicrosoftUpdate:0'

  1. Then you can install Management console using GUI from SCOM iso image.
