    Hi VINAY,
If you buy windows Datacenter and want to activate 7 VMS, you will use one Key of Datacenter and activate all VMS on each ESXi server with it
To activate it, follow below steps
    Go to Command prompt <runa as administrator} slmgr.vbs /ipk
    slmgr.vbs /ato

No, you didn’t need to update. because it will update automatic from Microsoft site if servers can access internet

    Hi Mai,

After running the above commands, I am unable to update the license key.
After pressing “Y” nothing is happening.

What does this mean and how can I resolve this.?

    Thanks in Advance..!!

      Hi Aakash,
First try to restart server after you activate license to detect it. if your issue still exist, that mean Key is used before or you use expired\incorrect key “not compatible with SCOM version”.

      • Aakash Saxena says:

        Hi Mai,

I have restarted the servers to check it, but nothing changed. Also the key is correct and compatible to the SCOM version.

        Hi Aakash,

Did you activate SCOM from Eval to licensed version?
        Please running below steps again:
Note To use the Set-SCOMLicense cmdlet, you must use elevated permissions (Run as Administrator).

        Open PowerShell as an administrator.
Load the OperationsManager module (import-module operationsmanager).
Connect to your management group (New-SCOMManagementGroupConnection).
Run the Set-SCOMLicense -ProductId ““ command.
To check whether the changes were made, run the following command:
        Get-SCOMManagementGroup | ft skuforlicense, version, timeofexpiration –a

Note You may have to restart the computer to make sure that these changes are registered correctly.

        Please Share the result of
        Get-SCOMLicense
        and
        Get-SCOMManagementGroup | ft skuforlicense, version, timeofexpiration –a

    Hi Mai,

Thank you for your support. The issue has been resolved. It was related to SQL Server access issue.
